MUSCAT — 4 Asian nationals died from carbon monoxide poisoning after inhaling exhaust fumes inside a working car within the Al Musannah Governorate in Oman’s South Al Batinah Governorate, the Royal Oman Police stated on Friday.
Authorities stated the incident happened in Al Musannah, the place police groups responded to a report and located the 4 people lifeless contained in the car.
In keeping with police, preliminary investigations revealed that the victims suffocated after inhaling poisonous gases emitted from the car’s exhaust whereas the engine remained working in a closed or poorly ventilated surroundings.
In a public security warning issued following the incident, police urged residents to not sleep inside autos whereas engines are working or go away autos working in enclosed areas, stressing that exhaust emissions can quickly result in deadly carbon monoxide poisoning.
