New Delhi: India formally launched the bold Superior Medium Fight Plane (AMCA) mission at Puttaparthi with a groundbreaking ceremony by defence minister Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday.

The manufacturing unit for India’s next-generation stealth fighter jets will come up on 600 acres in Puttaparthi, about 50 kilometres from the Karnataka border.
