LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Over 70 households had been displaced after a third-alarm residential fireplace struck Sitio Silangan in Barangay Tejero, Cebu Metropolis, on Saturday night, Might 16.

Based on the Cebu Metropolis Hearth Station (CCFS), the blaze utterly destroyed 65 homes and partially broken 10 others, with property losses estimated at P2.25 million.

As of 10 p.m. on Saturday, the Cebu Metropolis authorities reported that round 290 people had been registered as Internally Displaced Individuals (IDPs).

Town has designated the Tejero Elementary Faculty Gymnasium as their evacuation heart whereas awaiting validation and verification from the Division of Social Welfare Companies (DSWS).

Authorities recorded no casualties or fatalities within the incident.

Night fireplace

Based on the CCFS, they first obtained experiences of the fireplace at round 6:58 p.m. on Saturday.

The blaze shortly unfold and rose to first alarm at 7:01 p.m., second at 7:06 p.m., and third at 7:08 p.m.

Authorities have but to reveal the reason for the fireplace, however have recognized the supply from a property owned by Edwin “Loloy” Gomela.
