Pakistan and the Asian Infrastructure Funding Financial institution (AIIB) on Tuesday signed a $320.16 million mortgage settlement for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the N-5 freeway.

The settlement was signed between Muhammad Humair Karim Kidwai, Secretary of Financial Affairs Division (EAD), and Konstantin Limitovskiy, Chief Funding Officer of Public Sector and Challenge and Company Finance (International) Shoppers of AIIB, within the presence of Minister for Financial Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema.

A separate challenge settlement was additionally signed between AIIB and the Nationwide Freeway Authority (NHA).

Cheema appreciated the longstanding partnership with the AIIB, including that the financial institution has constantly confirmed to be a dependable growth associate of Pakistan.

He stated that the N-5 challenge wouldn’t solely strengthen the nation’s resilient infrastructure however would additionally play a major function in enhancing regional connectivity, commerce actions, and financial progress.

The EAD secretary appreciated the longstanding partnership with the AIIB, noting that the financial institution has constantly confirmed to be a robust and dependable associate.

He emphasised that the N-5 challenge will additional deepen this partnership, strengthen mutual belief and cooperation, whereas advancing Pakistan’s sustainable infrastructure community.

The N-5 hall holds immense significance because it connects key areas of Pakistan, enhancing regional connectivity, strengthening sustainable infrastructure, and supporting financial progress throughout the nation.

AIIB’s Limitovskiy highlighted the robust growth collaboration with Pakistan, emphasising the strategic significance of the N-5 challenge because it serves as a part of a global transport hall.

The N-5 reconstruction can be undertaken utilizing fashionable, inexperienced, and climate-resilient design requirements with state-of-the-art infrastructure, making certain effectivity, sustainability, and long-term sturdiness, he added.
