The Haifa District Courtroom, sitting as an admiralty courtroom, accepted the state’s request and ordered 11 vessels seized through the October 2025 Sumud flotilla transferred to state possession, based on a partial judgment issued Monday.

The ruling comes as Israel once more faces a global confrontation over Gaza-bound flotillas, after the Navy intercepted the most recent International Sumud Flotilla this week. The Overseas Ministry stated all 430 activists aboard the present flotilla have been being delivered to Israel, whereas organizers stated all 50 vessels have been intercepted. Israeli officers have described the flotilla as a public-relations stunt in service of Hamas, whereas activists stated they have been making an attempt to interrupt Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza and ship humanitarian support.

Boats have been on their technique to violate Israel’s maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip

Senior Choose Ron Sokol dominated that the state could confiscate the 11 vessels, which have been amongst dozens of boats seized by the Navy on October 1-2 and October 8, 2025, whereas, based on the courtroom, they have been on their technique to violate Israel’s maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip. The state filed its confiscation request on November 9, 2025, below the 1864 Naval Prize Act and wartime laws governing admiralty proceedings.

The choice applies solely to the vessels marked within the case as numbers 26, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, and 51 – to not all 52 vessels listed within the wider proceedings.

The state argued that the house owners of the 11 boats didn’t reply to the confiscation request for roughly six months.

In line with the choice, formal discover was served to the house owners of two vessels, Saad Umm and Alaa Al Najjar, however no response was filed. For the opposite vessels, the state stated it couldn’t full formal service: French authorities didn’t present possession particulars for a number of boats; two vessels have been owned by Libyan house owners who couldn’t be served; and the proprietor of Soul of My Soul, which bore an Italian flag, couldn’t be situated regardless of makes an attempt to seek out an tackle.

Sokol accepted the state’s place, writing that though formal service was not accomplished for all of the boats, there was “little question” the house owners knew the vessels had been seized, each due to the general public consideration surrounding the seizure and since the boats had been held by the state for greater than six months.

“The house owners’ disregard of the confiscation proceedings for such an extended interval signifies that they don’t object to the confiscation request,” Sokol wrote.

State should flip to the courtroom directly after seizing a vessel

The courtroom stated that below maritime prize regulation, the state should flip to the courtroom directly after seizing a vessel, so the courtroom can resolve what ought to be accomplished with it. Since many months had handed because the seizure, Sokol wrote, the suitable order was to confiscate the boats and switch them to state possession.

Nevertheless, the switch isn’t speedy. Sokol ordered the state to first submit or appropriate a survey figuring out the vessels, after noting issue matching the names and numbers within the confiscation request with these showing within the survey beforehand submitted by the state.

As soon as the corrected survey is filed, possession of the 11 vessels can be transferred to the state. The state should notify the courtroom inside 15 days of the submitting of the survey and the switch of possession.

The ruling lands amid renewed deal with Israel’s naval blockade enforcement. The present Turkish-backed flotilla included greater than 50 vessels and a few 500 members, and was a part of the International Sumud Flotilla’s second blockade-running try after a earlier effort in April was intercepted by the Navy.
