The police arrested two individuals early on Saturday (Could 23, 2026) in reference to the kidnapping and homicide of a 10-year-old woman, whose physique was discovered near the bund of Kannampalayam tank close to Sulur in Coimbatore district on Friday (Could 22).

Suspects identified to woman’s household

Police sources mentioned that the suspects had been identified to the woman’s household and one in all them kidnapped her from her neighbourhood on the pretext of shopping for her candies on Thursday (Could 21) night. The police recognized the suspects based mostly on visuals from surveillance cameras.

IG Ramya Bharathi, Deputy Inspector Basic of Police (Coimbatore Vary) P. Saminathan, and Coimbatore District (Rural) Superintendent of Police Allatipalli Pavan Kumar Reddy camped at Sulur until Saturday morning and supervised the investigation by particular groups beneath Deputy Superintendent of Police Karikal Pari Shankar. How the crime unfolded

“It was Karthik who kidnapped the woman on his two-wheeler by promising her candies on Thursday night. He, together with Mohanraj, later took her to a coconut farm close to Kannampalayam tank, the place they tried to assault her sexually. They murdered her when she resisted and screamed for assist.
