A Chinese language coast guard ship left waters close to Taiwan’s strategically positioned Pratas Islands on the prime of the South China Sea on Sunday following a tense standoff and verbal sparring between the coast guards, Taiwan’s Coast ‌Guard mentioned.

China claims ⁠democratically ⁠ruled Taiwan as its personal territory, a place the federal government in Taipei rejects.

China has pressured Taiwan by rising its navy presence across the island, and Taipei is on excessive alert for additional Chinese language actions after President Xi Jinping mentioned Taiwan with U.S. President Donald Trump in Beijing this month.
