He stated: “This 12 months’s observance is being commemorated beneath the theme, ‘Put money into Peace’, which underscores the crucial significance of sustained political dedication and monetary assist for the promotion of sturdy peace and the safety of human lives worldwide.

“The day additionally commemorates the institution of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO), the first-ever UN peacekeeping mission, which commenced operations in Palestine in 1948.

“Over the course of peacekeeping historical past, greater than two million women and men have served in over seventy UN peace missions all over the world. Pakistan stays among the many longest-serving and main contributors to United Nations peacekeeping operations.
