The Power Minister Awais Leghari mentioned on Sunday that the federal authorities is just not ending electrical energy subsidies for protected customers, dismissing rumours and assuring that eligible households will proceed to obtain monetary help by means of a brand new QR-code-based registration system.

Power minister Leghari mentioned the variety of protected customers has elevated from 9.5 million to 21.5 million over the previous 4 years, whereas practically 29.6 million home customers are at the moment benefiting from electrical energy subsidies.

“The entire subsidy invoice has risen from Rs199 billion to Rs423 billion, with Rs527 billion being offered to home and agricultural customers”.

The minister additionally defended the federal government’s photo voltaic power insurance policies, saying web metering has not been averted and that current reforms are geared toward enhancing transparency.

He added that 90 per cent of home customers would stay unaffected by modifications to the web billing system, whereas small-scale photo voltaic tasks proceed to obtain regulatory facilitation.

Leghari mentioned Pakistan is steadily rising its reliance on home and renewable power sources, with clear power anticipated to account for 90 per cent of the nation’s power combine by 2035.

He reiterated that subsidies for protected customers would proceed and that reviews about their withdrawal are baseless.
