CEBU CITY, Philippines — Two members of the Ateneo Blue Eagles males’s basketball program, Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili, died in an alleged drowning incident throughout a team-building exercise in Dipaculao, Aurora on Monday, June 8.

The exercise concerned the complete Ateneo Blue Eagles males’s basketball staff when the incident occurred. As of press time, authorities have but to launch an official report detailing the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Baterbonia, who had just lately turned 19, was a standout guard-forward identified for his sturdy displaying in youth competitions. He was a part of the gold-medal-winning DAVRAA squad in final 12 months’s Palarong Pambansa and helped safe a silver medal on this 12 months’s version in Agusan del Sur.
