HYDERABAD

A lady was arrested with 2.15 kgs of OG ganja arriving from Bangkok, following a coordinated operation by EAGLE Pressure Telangana, Customs and the Narcotics Management Bureau (NCB).

The arrest of Doddi Suri Kala, a junior artist from Hyderabad, on June 6 2026 has led to the publicity of a transnational smuggling syndicate working between Thailand and India, recruiting ladies carriers to move narcotics via air routes.

In accordance with officers, intelligence developed by EAGLE Pressure indicated that Kerala-based accused Challil Puthanpurayil Nafsheed alias Alex and his affiliate Raju Biswas have been recruiting ladies from Hyderabad underneath the pretext of international journey assignments and utilizing them to smuggle OG ganja from Bangkok into India. Officers said that in March 2026, she was first despatched to Bangkok and later returned through Chennai, the place the contraband was collected by an affiliate of the syndicate. In April 2026, she was once more despatched overseas and instructed to ship a number of packets of OG ganja, which have been later handed over close to Hyderabad after arrival. In a subsequent try in June 2026, she was intercepted by customs authorities at Hyderabad airport.
