Committee to evaluation telecom right-of-way and personal property, housing society operations earlier than suggestions

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday constituted a committee to evaluation the Telecommunication Reorganisation (Modification) Invoice.

The committee can be headed by Federal Minister for Regulation and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar, whereas the members embrace Senator Sherry Rehman, Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister for Financial Affairs Ahad Cheema, Lawyer Normal Mansoor Awan and consultants associated to the sphere of legislation and IT.

The committee, which has been constituted to deal with the considerations raised in opposition to a few of its provisions, will evaluation the Proper-of-way Framework in Part 2(qb), 2(ma), Part 27A and 27B of the Telecommunication Reorganisation Modification Invoice.

The committee will evaluation the right-of-way for the institution of telecommunication amenities and deliberate on the operations associated to the area of personal property and housing societies earlier than submitting its suggestions.

The premier directed the committee to evaluation the invoice on a precedence foundation and submit its proposals.

Earlier, the Ministry of Info Expertise and Telecommunication had clarified that the proposed Proper of Means (ROW) Invoice 2026 wouldn’t permit the forcible acquisition of personal land or unauthorised entry into residents’ non-public properties.

In line with the ministry, the property house owners would retain the complete proper to lift objections, negotiate phrases and demand acceptable compensation earlier than any work is carried out on their land.

It stated no telecom firm can be allowed to enter non-public property with out the proprietor’s consent or with out fulfilling all authorized necessities.
