The IDF destroyed a 200-meter terror tunnel utilized by Hezbollah in Lebanon, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Protection Minister Israel Katz introduced on Sunday night time.
The tunnel, situated close to the village of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon, was over 25 meters deep. It contained a whole bunch of weapons and several other shafts from which rockets could be launched in direction of Israel, in response to Netanyahu and Katz’s assertion.
The IDF introduced that the demolition mission was carried out by forces from the 551st Brigade in coordination with Yahalom Fight Engineers.
The tunnel system, which the 551st Brigade had taken earlier in June, couldn’t be destroyed by airstrikes and thus needed to be captured and destroyed from inside.
20 Hezbollah terrorists, together with 10 members of the group’s Radwan Drive, have been killed as IDF forces fought to take management of the tunnel, and 50 gadgets of terrorist infrastructure (together with drones, anti-tank missiles, and weapons) have been seized and destroyed.
Netanyahu and Katz mentioned that Israel had knowledgeable the US prematurely of the demolition.
