Pakistan, Turkiye agree to enhance cooperation in social protection sector

Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in social safety, household welfare and poverty alleviation, apart from expediting the finalisation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the related ministries of the 2 nations.
 
The understanding was reached throughout a gathering between Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmad Shah and Turkiye’s Minister of Household and Social Companies Mahinur Özdemir Göktas on the sidelines of the ninth Ministerial Convention on Girls of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
 
Through the assembly, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah stated Pakistan and Turkiye take pleasure in a historic relationship based on mutual belief, shared values and unwavering help for one another in troublesome instances.
 
He briefed the Turkish minister on Pakistan’s social safety framework, highlighting the function of the Benazir Revenue Assist Programme (BISP), Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and different establishments in supporting susceptible segments of society and lowering poverty.
 
The minister stated Pakistan is eager to profit from Turkiye’s expertise in digital social safety methods, family-centred welfare fashions and programmes selling the inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
 
He additionally described the continuing collaboration between Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Company (TIKA), significantly the Ramadan Meals Programme and the Centralised Kitchen Undertaking, as profitable examples of bilateral cooperation.
 
Mahinur Özdemir Göktas appreciated Pakistan’s social safety initiatives, particularly the Benazir Revenue Assist Programme, and stated it’s taking part in an efficient function in supporting deserving households and economically empowering girls.

The 2 ministers agreed to expedite the signing of the MoU to develop cooperation in social safety, social welfare, neighborhood improvement, capability constructing, employees coaching and the alternate of finest practices.
 
Turkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu, and senior officers from each nations additionally attended the assembly.

Later, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah introduced the Turkish minister with a standard Pakistani dupatta and a commemorative ministerial defend, whereas Mahinur Özdemir Göktas introduced him with a memento on behalf of Turkiye.
