Two helicopters collided in Greece’s Attica area as they fought to comprise a wildfire sweeping by means of a mountainous coastal space bedecked with forests.
Video footage broadcast on Greece’s ERT TV on Sunday confirmed one helicopter strike the opposite from above, sending it crashing in flames to the bottom.
A search and rescue operation for the two-person crews of the Bell-type plane, which had earlier taken off from a army airport at Elefsina in West Attica, retrieved two members with minor accidents, the Hellenic Hearth Service mentioned on Sunday. The 2 others had been pulled unconscious from the wreckage and transported to hospital, it mentioned.
