Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has postponed the sit-ins scheduled for Sunday in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta and introduced that nationwide sit-ins will now be held concurrently on August 16.

The choice was taken at a particular assembly chaired by JI Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman to overview preparations for the deliberate protests. The celebration additionally determined to look at Independence Day celebrations throughout the nation with full participation.

JI Deputy Ameers Liaqat Baloch and Usama Razi, Appearing Secretary Normal Nazir Ahmad Janjua, Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri, Azhar Iqbal Hassan, Rasool Khan Babar, Javed Qasuri and Ziauddin Ansari attended the assembly. Emirs of all provinces and main cities participated by way of video hyperlink.

In a video assertion, Rehman stated the sit-ins had been shifted from August 9 to August 16 due to Independence Day celebrations.

He stated simultaneous sit-ins could be held in all 4 provinces on August 16, marking the start of the celebration’s nationwide protest marketing campaign.

The JI chief stated the celebration would additionally rejoice Independence Day in a befitting method. He stated a serious sit-in could be held outdoors the Punjab Chief Minister’s Home in Lahore, whereas protests would happen outdoors the Governor Homes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan.

“Hakimran must cease oppression and coercion,” Rehman stated, including that the JI would use the sit-ins to press the federal government to withdraw choices that, in response to the celebration, had been towards public pursuits.
