New York City funds a Cornell Tech project tied to Israel’s Technion

  • NYC is funding a Cornell Tech mission tied to Israel’s Technion. New York Metropolis Council Speaker Julie Menin and different officers introduced on Wednesday a $250,000 funding in a Cornell Tech initiative geared toward increasing town’s tree protection, the Jerusalem Information Syndicate reported. Cornell Tech is a partnership between Cornell College in Ithaca and the Technion-Israel Institute of Know-how in Haifa, Israel. Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who helps the boycott, divestment and sanctions motion in opposition to Israel, stated throughout his mayoral marketing campaign that he would reassess the partnership if he have been elected.

 

  • Satmar leaders met with Mamdani at Metropolis Corridor. Rabbi Moishe Indig, a Satmar Hasidic chief who endorsed Mamdani through the mayoral race, stated he mentioned neighborhood issues of safety within the assembly alongside Rabbi David Niederman on Thursday. “Zohran Mamdani has been a staunch pal of our neighborhood and can proceed to be so sooner or later,” Indig stated on X. 

 

  • Temple Emanu-El is including a brand new dwelling. The Higher East Aspect synagogue introduced it’ll open Emanu-El Downtown, a brand new everlasting location in Chelsea for younger households.
