Fishermen working small boats in Negombo have reportedly caught unusually massive portions of ‘Saalaya’ fish of their nets yesterday (Aug. 10).
The massive catch created a problem for boat house owners, who had struggled to seek out sufficient labourers to type the fish from the nets.
In consequence, fishermen have been reportedly pressured to promote the fish straight from their boats at round Rs. 450-500 per kg.
