The tv drama Kotu, which was widespread when it was broadcast on the Sirasa tv channel, is reportedly set to start screening at cinemas islandwide from 16 October.
The teledrama, which concluded in June this 12 months after finishing 162 episodes, was created as a black comedy to satirically painting society, politics and the darker sides of human behaviour.
The movie, directed by Asanka Sayakkara, reportedly options Isuranga Jayakumara (Kasun) within the lead position.
The opposite characters are portrayed by Jagath Chamila, Jayani Senanayake, Sulo Harapathdeniya, Himali Sayurangi, Sanath Wimalasiri, Sampath Jayaweera, Sarath Kothalawala, Dilip Kumara, Hirushan Hettiarachchi, Nilmini Sigera, Dharmapriya Dias, Madhani Malwatta, Chathura Rajapaksa, Gayan Wickramathilaka, Malcolm Machado, Yasodha Mannage, Theekshana Sri Wijesinghe, Anil Thushanjana (Kalu Massina) and Thilina Jayamali, amongst others.
