Safety audits weren’t sufficient to maintain many cryptocurrency platforms protected from money-losing hacks, crypto market knowledge web site CoinGecko mentioned in a report dated Aug. 27.
Between January 2025 and July 2026, cryptocurrency platforms have misplaced greater than $3.63 billion resulting from a wide range of cyberattacks and stolen passkeys, the report mentioned.
