The Sri Lanka Navy has apprehended a suspect and seized approx. 820kg consignment of fish caught utilizing explosives, throughout a search operation in Muthur yesterday (Sep. 09).
Appearing on credible data acquired, naval personnel of SLNS Parakumba, along with SLNS Gokanna, within the Jap Naval Command intercepted and searched a suspicious lorry within the space. The search led to the restoration of this inventory of fish suspected to have been caught via unlawful blast fishing strategies.
The suspect in connection to the incident was recognized as a 40 12 months previous resident of Poduwaikattu Senduur space.
The person, lorry, and fish consignment have been handed over to the Muthur Police Station, in coordination with the Muthur Fisheries Inspector, for additional authorized motion.
