Pakistan has launched air assaults on Afghanistan, saying it focused hideouts utilized by armed teams in two areas and killed at the least 22 fighters.

The announcement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Info on Thursday got here as Kabul accused Islamabad of killing at the least 9 ladies and kids in assaults on its Kunar and Helmand provinces.

Al Jazeera couldn’t independently confirm the casualty claims.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for Afghanistan’s authorities, stated the strikes happened late on Wednesday and that at the least 9 individuals have been killed and 11 others wounded.

In a submit on X, he stated the assaults on northeastern Kunar and southern Helmand destroyed three homes.

“We condemn this act and take into account it an aggression and crime in opposition to all accepted ideas,” he wrote.

The alleged assaults come amid an escalation in combating between the neighbouring international locations after three months of relative calm. Islamabad accuses Kabul of harbouring armed teams, together with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, who stage cross-border assaults on its territory.

The Afghan authorities ‌denies the cost and says the Pakistani assaults have focused civilian houses, killing and wounding ladies and kids.
