The Appointments Committee of the Cupboard (ACC) permitted the extension for Singh, a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Kerala cadre, past his scheduled retirement on October 31, 2026, the report mentioned.
The extension will stay in impact till October 31, 2027, or till additional orders, whichever is earlier, in accordance with the order issued by the Division of Personnel and Coaching (DoPT).
The federal government granted the extension by stress-free provisions of Elementary Rule 56(d) and Rule 16(1A) of the All India Providers (Demise-cum-Retirement Advantages) Guidelines, 1958, the order mentioned.
Singh heads the Division of Defence within the Ministry of Defence, which is liable for defence coverage and administration.
