Japan’s gender gap has never been wider. Can Kishida close it?

The variety of girls in Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s newest Cupboard reshuffle, introduced Sept. 13, elevated from two to 5.

That is as excessive because it has ever been — although not a single lady was chosen for any of the 54 junior ministerial positions.

Kishida instructed the newly appointed feminine ministers: “I hope that every of you’ll do your job whereas totally demonstrating your sensitivity and empathy as girls, that are distinctive to girls.”
