His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and King Felipe VI of the Kingdom of Spain and Queen Letizia held a personal assembly on the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid on Tuesday night.

The assembly served to deliberate upon a number of political and financial issues of mutual curiosity to each nations, throughout which views had been exchanged concerning developments in present regional and worldwide affairs. The discussions additional emphasised the paramount significance of broadening the scope of partnership and funding to fortify the economies of each nations.

The assembly was attended from the Omani facet by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Mentioned, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Overseas Minister. Representing the Spanish facet had been Jose Manuel Albares, Minister of Overseas Affairs, and Francisco Javier, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Sultanate of Oman.

Earlier, an official reception ceremony was held on the Royal Palace in Madrid for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on the event of his state go to to the Kingdom of Spain.

Upon the arrival of His Majesty the Sultan’s motorcade on the precincts to the Royal Palace, it was escorted by a cavalcade of the Royal Cavalry’s knights. His Majesty was then obtained by King Felipe VI of the Kingdom of Spain and Queen Letizia. The Royal couple welcomed His Majesty the Sultan and prolonged their needs for a profitable go to and a nice keep within the Kingdom of Spain to him and the accompanying official delegation.

Thereafter, His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, ascended the dais of honour, throughout which the Omani Royal Anthem and the Spanish Nationwide Anthem had been performed, whereas the artillery fired a 21-gun salute in honour of His Majesty the Sultan. Afterwards, His Majesty inspected the Guard of Honour.

After that, His Majesty the Sultan shook fingers with senior Spanish officers who welcomed him, whereas King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia shook fingers with the official Omani delegation. His Majesty the Sultan and the King of Spain then witnessed the March-Previous of the Guard of Honour to the accompaniment of army musical items.

After the conclusion of the official reception protocols, His Majesty the Sultan and the King of Spain held a cordial assembly on the Royal Palace. – ONA
