Previous college students of Nalanda School, Colombo, formally handed over a consignment of flood reduction items to the Ministry of Defence yesterday (December 10).
The donation was offered to the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), on the Defence Ministry by a bunch of faculty representatives.
The initiative, organized beneath the humanitarian programme “Nalanda Sathkara 2025,” is a collective effort by the Outdated Boys of Nalanda School to help Sri Lankan households displaced by widespread flooding.
The reduction objects embrace important items akin to dry rations, sanitary merchandise, medicines, and different requirements.
Additionally current on the event have been the Principal of Nalanda School, Mr. U.D. Iran Champika Silva; the Govt President of Nalanda OBA, Mr. Mohan Gunadasa; the President of the Nalanda Junior OBA, Mr. Heshan Padukka; and the Further Secretary (Administration) of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Harsha Vithanaarachchi.
