The continued agitation by the Particular Educators’ Union (IERT, DSE, DSET), demanding regularisation of their service and protesting the Punjab authorities’s announcement to recruit particular educators from January 1, entered its 127th day on Sunday, with a number of protesters persevering with a sit-in on the seventh ground of the schooling division constructing.

The protesting lecturers, engaged beneath the Inclusive Schooling for Disabled (IED) part of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, have been demanding regularisation of their providers, citing uninterrupted service of 18 to twenty years in educating youngsters with particular wants.

As a part of their protest, some members have been tenting atop the schooling division constructing since December 26, refusing to come back down till written orders assuring regularisation are issued. The union warned to escalate the agitation if the federal government didn’t act.
