Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has dismissed claims that the continued redevelopment of Varanasi’s iconic Manikarnika Ghat has led to the destruction of idols and heritage buildings. Addressing the media, Adityanath stated photographs of damaged or previous idols circulating on social media have been being intentionally shared to create confusion and unrest, echoing related ways seen in the course of the Kashi Vishwanath Hall challenge. He accused the Congress of spreading “false propaganda” and warned the general public in opposition to AI-generated movies aimed toward inflaming sentiments.
Adityanath clarified that each one artefacts discovered throughout excavation are being preserved and will likely be reinstalled as soon as development is full. He emphasised that redevelopment goals to enhance services, notably for monsoon months, guaranteeing that cremations may be carried out with dignity.
