Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has dismissed claims that the continued redevelopment of Varanasi’s iconic Manikarnika Ghat has led to the destruction of idols and heritage buildings. Addressing the media, Adityanath stated photographs of damaged or previous idols circulating on social media have been being intentionally shared to create confusion and unrest, echoing related ways seen in the course of the Kashi Vishwanath Hall challenge. He accused the Congress of spreading “false propaganda” and warned the general public in opposition to AI-generated movies aimed toward inflaming sentiments.
CM Denies Idol Injury Claims
“The federal government is not going to tolerate anybody who tries to malign India’s heritage or provoke public feelings. Damaged idols are being introduced from outdoors, and claims that idols are being demolished are false,” the CM stated.
