The primary grievance was filed by the safety officer of the Consulate Common of Japan, positioned close to Cubbon Park. In line with the grievance, a bomb menace e mail was obtained at 5.32 am on January 29 from the deal with gaina_ramesh@outlook.com.
In an analogous incident, the Consulate Common of Italy on Richmond Street additionally obtained a menace e mail the identical morning at 5.25 am. The safety officer reported that the e-mail, despatched by an individual figuring out himself as “Ramesh” from the identical Outlook account, was addressed to the consulate’s visa and consular sections. The message said, “5 RDX to blast in Italy Consulate, Bengaluru at 1 PM. Evacuate Diplomats by 10 AM!”
The Bengaluru police are working with the Cyber Crime Wing to hint the origin and IP deal with linked to the e-mail account. Whereas the threats are suspected to be hoaxes aimed toward creating panic, safety has been tightened at each consulates as a precaution.
