On 17 February, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith acquired letters of credence from seven newly appointed overseas ambassadors.

The ambassadors symbolize Thailand, Finland, Egypt, Georgia, Austria, Lithuania and Slovakia. Some are primarily based in Vientiane, whereas others reside in Hanoi, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore with concurrent accreditation to Laos.

Through the ceremony, President Thongloun congratulated the envoys and expressed confidence that their expertise would assist broaden bilateral and multilateral cooperation. 

He additionally highlighted alternatives to spice up commerce, funding and tourism, and inspired the ambassadors to go to different provinces to raised perceive native growth and promote funding alternatives to companies from their respective nations.

In response, the ambassadors thanked the President for the nice and cozy welcome and reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening cooperation with Laos.

On the identical day, President Thongloun appointed three new Lao ambassadors to serve in the UK, Cambodia and Kuwait. 

He urged them to advertise Laos’ overseas coverage priorities, implement current cooperation agreements, and entice higher worldwide assist, funding, and tourism. 

He emphasised that diplomatic efforts will contribute to socio-economic growth and assist the federal government’s purpose of graduating from Least Developed Nation standing in 2026.
