Two extra days stay within the Sri Lankan leg of the Stroll for Peace titled as ‘Ehipassiko’.

The stroll, which started from Matale on April 23 underneath state patronage, will proceed to Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya at the moment (April 27) earlier than concluding on April 28 in Colombo.

A sapling of the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi, which was ceremonially carried in the course of the stroll, will likely be formally handed over by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo, to the visiting delegation of overseas monks from the US.

The peace initiative of the 12 monks led by the founding father of the American peace stroll – Ven. Pannakara Thero has been met with immense enthusiasm and devotion from Sri Lankans throughout all walks of life, no matter age, race or faith. Crowds have been delighted and touched with the lovable presence of ’Aloka’ and by heartfelt, random moments alongside the best way.

Braving the fierce warmth and lengthy, burning asphalt roads alongside the hill nation in direction of Colombo, the monks have continued on, embodying the spirit of peace with immense resilience, grace, persistence, mindfulness and compassion… touching the hearts of many.

Simply because the Pali phrase ‘Ehipassiko’ merely means ‘Come and See’, many did come, to see and expertise… with open hearts filled with devotion and anticipation, and palms that have been both holding choices, folded in prayers or busy with energetic makes an attempt to make the burning, dusty roads simpler for the monks. And simply as Ven. Pannakara Thero preached on the very begin, hope they discovered some interior peace to take again.

The next are captures in the course of the 4th day of the stroll, which reduce throughout the cities of Mawanella and Kegalle on April 25.
