Hanif Abbasi announces Peoples Train, promises faster Lahore–Rawalpindi travel

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi has introduced that the “Peoples Prepare” can be inaugurated on the Independence Day of Pakistan, marking a key milestone in ongoing reforms inside Pakistan Railways.

Talking after opening a reservation workplace on the railway headquarters in Lahore, the minister mentioned a number of growth initiatives are underway, although upgrading the railway observe infrastructure stays the most important problem.

He revealed that work on the Lahore–Rawalpindi route is progressing, and as soon as the brand new observe is accomplished, journey time between Lahore and Rawalpindi can be decreased to roughly two hours and twenty minutes. Improvement on the Rohri observe can be ongoing and is predicted to be finalized by September.

Discussing the ML-1 venture, Abbasi mentioned consultations have been held with all provinces, and the federal government is advancing with consensus, with the Sindh chief minister prone to signal an MoU quickly. He additionally hinted at constructive developments for residents of Quetta, whereas talks proceed with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities.

The minister added that the digitization of Pakistan Railways is a prime precedence assigned by the prime minister. A contemporary management room is already operational, with seven extra deliberate in collaboration with the Frontier Works Group.

Moreover, new railway stations are deliberate in Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Multan, whereas Wi-Fi companies will quickly be launched at main stations throughout the nation.
