Polling for 105 municipal our bodies in Punjab, together with eight municipal companies, is scheduled for Could 26, as introduced by state election commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhury on Monday. Counting will happen on Could 29.

Addressing the media in Chandigarh, Chaudhury mentioned the elections might be held to the eight municipal companies of Mohali, Bathinda, Abohar, Barnala, Kapurthala, Moga, Batala, and Pathankot.

Moreover, elections might be held for 76 municipal councils and 21 nagar panchayats, totalling 2,019 wards throughout the 105 municipal our bodies.

With the announcement of the election schedule, the mannequin code of conduct has come into fast impact.

Chaudhury famous that 36,72,932 registered voters are eligible for these municipal our bodies, together with 17,73,716 girls.

Polling will happen throughout 3,977 stations from 8am to 5pm.

The submitting of nominations will start on Could 13, with the final date set for Could 16. Scrutiny of papers will happen on Could 18, and the ultimate date for withdrawal of nominations is Could 19.

Greater than 35,000 Punjab Police personnel might be deployed to make sure security and safety.

These elections are seen as a litmus check for the ruling AAP authorities and the opposition events, coming after a interval of administrative delays and authorized hurdles concerning ward delimitation.
