In continuation of Indian Navy’s endeavour to construct ‘Bridges of Friendship’, Indian Naval Ship Sunayna as IOS Sagar with a multinational crew from 16 nations is scheduled to reach at Colombo tomorrow (Could 15) marking her seventh port name within the second version of this deployment.
The IOS Sagar was flagged off for sea part from Mumbai on 02 Apr 2026, on completion of mixed harbour coaching for multinational crew comprising officers and sailors from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mozambique, Myanmar, Singapore, Seychelles, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor Leste, and UAE within the Indian Naval coaching institutions. The coaching coated seamanship, navigation, communication procedures, security of life at sea, firefighting and injury management, together with specialised modules as Go to, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) operations and superior bridgemanship.
In the course of the port name, the Commanding Officer will name on Senior Officers from Sri Lanka Navy, specifically Commander Western Naval Space and Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet. The multinational crew can have skilled and sports activities interplay with the Sri Lanka Navy, and can go to numerous locations of curiosity in Sri Lanka.
