Days after the announcement of CBSE Class 12 outcomes, the Ministry of Training on Sunday (Might 17, 2026) stated the ‘On Display Marking’ (OSM) is an internationally accepted norm which allows “clear analysis”.

The assertion got here amid considerations over the OSM analysis being a motive for scoring much less marks.

The Central Board of Secondary Training (CBSE) on Wednesday (Might 13, 2026) launched the Class 12 board examination outcomes which recorded a slight dip within the general go proportion in 2026 compared to final 12 months. The nationwide go proportion stands at 85.20%, a drop of three.19% from final 12 months’s 88.39%.

“About 98 lakh sheets had been scanned for CBSE class 12 with three ranges of safety,” the assertion stated.

The Ministry additionally introduced that the prices for revaluation of the reply sheets have additionally been lowered to ₹100 from ₹700 and ₹500, respectively. “College students can have the choice of revaluation,” stated Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Division of Faculty Training & Literacy (DoSEL).

A complete of 17,68,968 college students appeared within the CBSE board examinations for Class 12. Over 94,000 college students scored above 90%, with greater than 17,000 candidates securing marks above 95%.

Among the many areas, Trivandrum leads the charts with a staggering 95.62% go fee, adopted intently by Chennai and Bengaluru. Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh has the bottom go proportion at 72.43%.
