The counting of votes was underway after polling concluded for elections in 24 Gilgit-Baltistan Meeting constituencies amid tight safety.

The polling course of started at 8am and continued until 5pm with none break on Sunday.

A complete of 403 candidates took half within the elections, together with 396 males and eight girls. The entire variety of registered voters within the area was 963,034, together with 566,097 male and 396,937 feminine voters.

Skardu has 208 polling stations, together with 88 regular, 51 delicate and 69 extremely delicate stations, whereas Shigar has 71 polling stations, comprising 31 regular, 23 delicate and 17 extremely delicate.

Kharmang has 43 polling stations, together with 12 regular, 10 delicate and 21 extremely delicate stations, whereas Ghanche has 154 polling stations, comprising 89 regular, 39 delicate and 26 extremely delicate stations.

Astore has 108 polling stations, together with 40 regular, 34 delicate and 34 extremely delicate stations.

The Pakistan Peoples Social gathering (PPP) has fielded the best variety of candidates, with 23 contesting the elections, adopted by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) with 22 and 19 independents backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Social gathering (IPP) has fielded 15 candidates, the Pakistan Nazriyati Social gathering (PNP) 11, whereas Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Islami Tehreek Pakistan (ITP) have fielded 9 candidates every.

The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) has nominated seven candidates, whereas Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Muttahida Qaumi Motion-Pakistan (MQM-P) have fielded six candidates every. The Awami Employees Social gathering (AWP) has fielded 4 candidates.

Safety association

Authorities mentioned foolproof safety preparations had been put in place for the elections. Personnel from the native police, Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts, and contingents from Punjab and Sindh police have been deployed to carry out safety duties at polling stations and different key places.
