The movement to refer the report containing the findings of the investigations performed by the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) in relation to the Division of Motor Site visitors to the Legal professional Normal for observations and any needed additional motion was authorized by Parliament in the present day (Jun. 09).
The report comprises the findings of the investigations carried out by COPA relating to the Division of Motor Site visitors on 10 and 21 March 2025 in the course of the First Session of the Tenth Parliament. It had beforehand been offered to Parliament on 25 July 2025 as Parliamentary Collection No. 243.
By way of the provisions of Standing Order 119(4) of Parliament, the related report had been referred to the Minister of Finance and the topic Minister for his or her observations and following the tabling of their responses in Parliament, the COPA reconsidered the issues contained within the report on 04 March 2026.
Throughout its deliberations, the Committee emphasised the need of taking immediate authorized motion in relation to the monetary irregularities and frauds that had been revealed within the Division of Motor Site visitors. Accordingly, it was unanimously determined to hunt the approval of Parliament to refer the Committee’s report back to the Legal professional Normal for needed authorized motion.
Accordingly, Parliament in the present day authorized the movement, “The report bearing Parliamentary Collection No. 243, which was tabled in Parliament on 25 July 2025 and comprises the findings of the investigations performed by the COPA on 10 and 21 March 2025 in relation to the Division of Motor Site visitors, be referred to the Legal professional Normal for observations and needed motion.”
No committee report beforehand tabled in Parliament has been referred to the Legal professional Normal for observations and additional authorized motion, and marks the primary event on which a committee report has been referred on this method.
