Sri Lanka to resume Badulla–Nanu Oya train services on June 20

Passenger practice providers between Badulla and Nanu Oya will resume from June 20, 2026, after restore work on a cyclone-damaged part of the Upcountry railway line was accomplished.

The Division of Railways stated restore work on the railway line between Nanu Oya and Ambewela, which was broken by Cyclone Ditwah, has now been efficiently accomplished.

With the completion of the repairs, practice operations on the Nanu Oya–Badulla part of the Upcountry railway line are scheduled to restart from June 20, 2026.

The Division additionally introduced that practice providers on this part will function below a particular timetable.

In the meantime, upkeep and restore work remains to be persevering with at a number of broken places on the Upcountry railway line between Rambukkana and Nanu Oya.
