INSEE LANKA AND SRI LANKA COAST GUARD LAUNCH COASTAL PROTECTION INITIATIVE ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

19th June 2026: To commemorate World Surroundings Day, INSEE Lanka partnered with the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to launch a significant coastal safety initiative. The challenge is a part of the Coast Guard’s formidable goal of planting 10,000 Mudilla and Mangrove timber yearly. INSEE’s involvement highlights the corporate’s long-term dedication to revive and safeguard Sri Lanka’s coastal ecosystems whereas recognising the size and urgency of constructing local weather resilience and selling carbon sequestration.

The challenge commenced with the ceremonial planting of 100 Mudilla timber on June 5, 2026, at Panadura seashore close to the Coast Guard lifesaving put up, marking step one in the direction of the annual goal.

Beneath Section I of the initiative, a complete of 1,000 Mudilla and 750 Mangrove saplings had been planted at recognized places alongside the nation’s shoreline by the Sri Lanka Coast Guard These species had been chosen for his or her capability to strengthen coastal resilience, act as pure obstacles towards erosion, and assist biodiversity.

INSEE Lanka has pledged to strengthen the challenge by ongoing contributions, together with volunteer engagement, plant nursery growth, and technical experience. The collaboration is aligned with INSEE’s Sustainability Ambition 2030, particularly its Biodiversity pillar, emphasizing ecological restoration and lengthy‑time period environmental stewardship.

INSEE Lanka has been a constant supporter of Sri Lanka’s coastal safety, restoring over ten hectares of mangroves and planting over 10,000 saplings in collaboration with nationwide businesses and native communities. INSEE’s contribution safeguards coastal ecosystems and enhances the resilience of coastal communities, aligning with Sri Lanka’s broader local weather adaptation and biodiversity safety methods.
