The Dehlon police have booked a 35-year-old man on prices of assaulting an 84-year-old Jassowal resident inside a gurdwara langar corridor and for hurting non secular sentiments. Police mentioned the assault was allegedly linked to a long-standing land dispute between the 2 households.

The accused, Jaspreet Singh, has been booked on the criticism of Raghbir Singh, who sustained accidents within the incident. Police have registered a case below Sections 115(2) (voluntarily inflicting damage), 117(2) (voluntarily inflicting grievous damage) and 299 (deliberate and malicious acts meant to outrage non secular emotions) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

In accordance with investigating officer ASI Dharam Singh, the 2 households have been concerned in a land dispute that’s presently pending in courtroom. The sufferer is a witness within the case towards the accused, police mentioned.

The incident happened contained in the langar corridor of a village gurdwara. In accordance with police, Jaspreet allegedly started pointing fingers at Raghbir Singh and when the aged man objected to the behaviour, an argument ensued.

The accused allegedly attacked Raghbir with utensils mendacity within the langar corridor earlier than bodily assaulting him.

Police mentioned he punched the sufferer within the face, inflicting a number of accidents. The matter escalated additional when the accused reportedly pulled the sufferer’s beard and threw off his turban, prompting police to invoke provisions associated to hurting non secular sentiments.

ASI Dharam Singh mentioned the accused is absconding and raids are being carried out to arrest him.
