New Delhi: An Indian Military contingent drawn from the Assam Regiment, Navy’s frontline stealth frigate INS Tarkash and indigenously constructed Survey Vessel Giant INS Ikshak are set to participate within the golden jubilee celebrations of the Nationwide Day of Seychelles on June 29.

In addition to, an Indian Navy marching contingent and naval band may even be a part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Nationwide Day of the archipelago nation.

The celebrations will likely be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi because the Visitor of Honour. Modi is at the moment on a three-day go to to Seychelles beginning June 27, throughout which he’ll maintain talks with President Patrick Herminie.

INS Tarkash, a frontline warship of the Indian Navy, arrived in Victoria, Seychelles on June 26 throughout her ongoing operational deployment to the south-west Indian Ocean Area, the Navy stated.

Indian Navy’s indigenously constructed Survey Vessel Giant (SVL) — INS Ikshak — has arrived in Victoria as a part of her operational deployment to the south-west Indian Ocean Area and to participate within the golden jubilee celebrations of the Nationwide Day of Seychelles, a spokesperson of the Indian Navy stated on Saturday.

The vessel had arrived on the port of Victoria, capital of the archipelago nation, on June 26.An Indian Military official on Sunday stated a contingent of the drive, comprising 32 personnel from the Assam Regiment and led by Capt Aryan H Deolekar, is ready to participate within the celebrations on June 29.

India and Seychelles share long-standing historic ties. Through the years, the connection has developed into a robust strategic partnership encompassing defence cooperation, growth, tradition and commerce, the Military stated.

“An Indian Navy marching contingent accompanied by a army band can also be collaborating within the celebrations, reflecting the shut and enduring defence partnership between the 2 international locations,” it stated in an announcement.

Participation of the Indian armed forces contingents in nationwide celebrations of pleasant international international locations serves as a logo of mutual belief, army camaraderie and shared dedication in the direction of strengthening bilateral relations, the Indian Military stated.

Such engagements reinforce defence cooperation and underscore India’s function as a dependable accomplice in selling peace, stability and safety within the Indian Ocean Area, it added.

Indian armed forces’ contingents have beforehand represented the nation at distinguished worldwide ceremonial occasions, together with the 237th Bastille Day Parade in France in 2023, the Victory Day Parade in Bangladesh in 2021, and the Victory Day Parade in Russia in 2015 and 2020, it stated.

India’s participation in golden jubilee celebrations of the Nationwide Day of Seychelles “reaffirms the particular partnership between the 2 international locations and highlights the rising depth of bilateral engagement throughout various sectors,” the Military stated.

Modi final visited Seychelles in 2015.

India and Seychelles share a longstanding partnership rooted in shared historic, cultural and people-to-people ties.

The spokesperson of the Indian Navy stated the vessels’ go to coincide with the Nationwide Day celebrations of Seychelles, “underscoring the enduring maritime partnership and shut friendship between India and Seychelles”.
