The chairman of the Central Elections Committee issued an interim order directing the elimination of a video printed on each the Prime Minister’s Workplace’s official accounts and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private political account.

The order adopted a petition filed by the nonprofit group “Voters in Israel,” which argued that the video constituted prohibited election propaganda involving using public assets.

The video consists of an excerpt from remarks Netanyahu made throughout a multi-front situational evaluation with the IDF’s senior command discussion board. Within the remarks, he referred to strain positioned on him to launch the hostages earlier than the date on which they have been finally launched.

The committee chairman stated the video’s simultaneous publication on official and private political accounts raised considerations. If the video constitutes election propaganda, he famous, it mustn’t seem on official accounts.

If it doesn’t represent election propaganda, it’s unclear what function is served by additionally publishing it on Netanyahu’s private political account.

With out ruling at this stage on whether or not the video constitutes election propaganda, the chairman ordered its elimination from all accounts till proceedings on the petition are accomplished.

The proceedings are ongoing, and a further announcement is predicted when the ultimate determination is handed down.
