Jail Division Media Spokesperson A.C. Gajanayake says that posthumous promotions and compensation have been granted with instant impact to the eight jail officers who tragically misplaced their lives within the Negombo Jail conflict.
Accordingly, Jail Jailer S.H. Chandrawansa, who was killed whereas on obligation, has been posthumously promoted from a Second Class Jailer to a First Class Jailer.
