Six main political events representing the Tamil and Muslim communities in Sri Lanka have reportedly convened a particular assembly in Colombo tomorrow (13) to debate frequent targets and the present political state of affairs.
In line with an official media assertion issued by the workplace of Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) chief and Member of Parliament Mano Ganesan, preparations have been made to carry the essential talks at 1.00 p.m. tomorrow on the Renuka Resort in Colombo.
The All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC – Rishad Bathiudeen faction), Ceylon Staff’ Congress (CWC – Jeevan Thondaman faction), Democratic Tamil Nationwide Alliance (DTNA), Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK – Sivagnanam Shritharan faction), Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC – Rauff Hakeem faction) and the Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA – Mano Ganesan faction) are scheduled to come back collectively for talks.
Collectively, the six events characterize a majority of the general voter base of Tamil- and Muslim-speaking communities dwelling within the North, East, plantation areas and concrete centres, together with Colombo.
The talks are anticipated to focus totally on safeguarding the rights of minority communities amid the present Authorities’s political and constitutional reforms, and on growing a mechanism to boost a united voice on frequent points confronted by these communities.
