Sri Lanka’s export earnings reached an estimated US$ 9.01 billion in the course of the first six months of 2026, a rise of 8% in comparison with the identical interval final 12 months.

Commenting on the figures, Sri Lanka Export Growth Board Chairman and Chief Govt Officer Mangala Wijesinghe mentioned the competitiveness demonstrated by exporters, regardless of challenges within the international market, had been a key issue behind the expansion.
He mentioned the Export Growth Board remained dedicated to strengthening Sri Lanka’s financial system by way of the Nationwide Export Growth Plan 2026-2030.
The plan focuses on selling innovation, increasing into new markets and rising value-added merchandise within the nation’s export sector.
