A dialogue between the Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr Anil Jayantha Fernando, and the Excessive Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Mr Santosh Jha, was held on the Presidential Secretariat this morning (July 27) to assessment points affecting improvement initiatives being applied in Sri Lanka with monetary help from the Authorities of India.

The discussions targeted on the challenges encountered within the implementation of Indian-funded infrastructure initiatives and the measures required to deal with them. Specific consideration was additionally given to the renewal of agreements to facilitate the continuation of those initiatives.

The initiatives beneath assessment are being applied by means of the Ministries of Transport, Highways and City Improvement, Ports and Civil Aviation, Plantations and Group Infrastructure, Housing Development and Water Provide, Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Assets, Science and Expertise, and Justice and Nationwide Integration. The assembly additionally reviewed initiatives financed by means of the US$450 million mortgage and grant help prolonged by the Authorities of India for catastrophe restoration and reconstruction.

The individuals additionally mentioned the institution of a devoted unit throughout the Presidential Secretariat to supervise and monitor the progress of those initiatives.
