Journalists in Kurigram shaped a human chain to protest the assault on Muhammad Zobair, the Kurigram District Correspondent of Star Information Tv, who was assaulted whereas performing his skilled duties throughout a July Mass Rebellion Day program in Ulipur. The protesters demanded the instant arrest of the attackers, a good and neutral investigation, and exemplary punishment for these accountable.

The hour-long human chain was organized by the Kurigram Journalists’ Union on Thursday afternoon at KC Highway in Kurigram city. Journalists from print, digital, and on-line media, together with human rights activists and anxious residents, took half within the demonstration.

Amongst those that addressed the gathering had been Monowar Hossain Liton, Member Secretary of the Kurigram Journalists’ Union and Kurigram Correspondent of ATN Information; Mahfuz Khandaker Tutor, Common Secretary of the Kurigram Press Membership; Rashidul Islam Rashed, Kurigram Correspondent of Channel One; Tamzid Turag, Kurigram Correspondent of Unbiased Tv; Sujan Mohanta, Kurigram Correspondent of Samakal; and human rights activist Rukaiya Akter Rupa.

The audio system mentioned that an assault on a journalist whereas finishing up skilled duties is just not merely an assault on a person but in addition an assault on press freedom and freedom of expression. They emphasised that journalists serve the general public by delivering truthful and goal information, and making certain their security is the duty of the state.
