Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 7 (ANI): Indian veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja posted a cryptic remark hours after the Board of Management for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed Ajit Agarkar’s exit from the chief choice.

Agarkar’s tenure as chairman of the BCCI’s senior males’s choice committee formally ended on October 4. He had taken cost in July 2023 and didn’t search an extension. Throughout his tenure, India gained three ICC trophies — the ICC Males’s T20 World Cup in 2024, the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 and the ICC Males’s T20 World Cup in 2026.

Because the BCCI introduced a emptiness within the choice committee on Tuesday, Jadeja commented cheekily on Wednesday, ‘What is the process’ with a laughing emoji.

This comes simply after Jadeja made a return to the ODI aspect in the course of the three ODIs towards West Indies, after lacking the Afghanistan ODIs at residence and England ODIs within the UK earlier this 12 months. Throughout two matches, Jadeja managed bowling figures of two/75 and 0/54 in 10 overs.

Since final 15 ODIs ranging from 2025, Jadeja has scored 149 runs in 10 innings at a median of 29.80, with finest rating of 32 and a strike charge of over 95. His bowling performances have witnessed a slight dip, having taken simply 14 wickets in 15 matches at a median of 47.93, with finest figures of three/26. This 12 months, he has taken simply two wickets throughout 5 matches and scored 43 runs throughout three innings, with a finest rating of 27.

Jadeja, in the meantime, stays an important cog of India’s Take a look at aspect, even with younger spinners like Manav Suthar rising. In the course of the two Assessments towards Sri Lanka, he scored 65 runs throughout three innings, with a finest rating of 43 and took eight wickets at a median of 33.57, with finest figures of three/57.

Jadeja’s standing for the 5 NZ ODIs away from residence, ranging from November 22 onwards, and two Assessments following that continues to be unsure, with the squads not introduced but.

Forward of the primary West Indies ODI, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak had backed Jadeja for the 2027 ODI World Cup, noting his all-round skills and expertise.

‘I believe he’s clearly within the combine,’ Kotak informed reporters forward of the primary ODI towards West Indies, as quoted by ICC.

‘I’m not a part of the choice committee, so I have no idea what their considering is. I simply suppose whoever is coming and taking part in for India, they’re clearly a part of the 20-25 gamers who probably could be within the staff for the Cricket World Cup.’

‘Boosting Jadeja’s prospects is his excellence within the discipline, and functionality with the bat.’Jadeja is an impressive all-rounder. Everyone knows. You see his information. How the staff can be arrange and how much mixture selectors and captain and head coach will go together with is secondary. And there may be time for that. However Jadeja, to me, is without doubt one of the finest fielders we nonetheless have on a world stage,’ stated the batting coach.

‘He bowls, he bats and the expertise he has, and I really firmly imagine that have is one thing you can not beat. So like we see Rohit Sharma, we see Virat Kohli, we see Jadeja. And that brings quite a bit to the staff. Jadeja is clearly a really helpful member of the staff,’ he added. (ANI)
