Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Major and Secondary Schooling is looking for to forge extra cooperation agreements to develop college revitalization and restore studying in Sumatra following latest floods and landslides.

Minister of Major and Secondary Schooling Abdul Mu’ti in Jakarta on Wednesday said that as of February 15, his ministry had signed revitalization cooperation pacts with 746 faculties with a complete worth of Rp866.5 billion (roughly US$51.3 million).

He expounded that the 746 faculties comprise 340 in Aceh, 210 in North Sumatra, and 196 in West Sumatra.

“From the 746 faculties which have signed agreements, a complete of Rp231.7 billion has been disbursed, and the remaining is in progress,” Mu’ti stated throughout a coordination assembly with the Home of Representatives (DPR).

He affirmed that his ministry will maintain additional coordination conferences with native schooling places of work to hurry up reconstruction. The goal is to signal revitalization agreements with 1,204 extra faculties beginning within the fourth week of February.

“The extra agreements comprise 731 faculties in Aceh, 62 faculties in West Sumatra, and 411 faculties in North Sumatra,” he added.

Past college revitalization targets, the ministry can also be processing the verification and checking account creation for 13,000 lecturers to distribute Particular Trainer Allowances (TKG), totaling Rp83.3 billion.

He clarified that the assorted allowances for lecturers in disaster-affected areas don’t require them to satisfy a minimal educating load.

Three provinces of Sumatra: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, have been beforehand hit by heavy rainfall-triggered floods and landslides in late November 2025.

In line with the Nationwide Catastrophe Mitigation Company (BNPB) data, as of February 18, the disasters claimed 1,206 lives, whereas 138 residents stay lacking.

Earlier, Minister Mu’ti famous that the whole variety of affected faculties throughout the three provinces reached 4,863. This consists of 3,409 faculties with mild injury, 925 with reasonable injury, 437 with extreme injury, and 92 that require full relocation.
