Organized prison and alleged drug trafficker Arumahandi Janith Madhusankha de Silva, alias “Podi Lassie”, has been handed over to the Galle District Crimes Division for additional investigations.
He was introduced again to Sri Lanka earlier right this moment (Feb. 27) after being arrested in India.

‘Podi Lassie’ dropped at Sri Lanka
Organized prison and alleged drug trafficker Arumahandi Janith Madhusankha de Silva, alias “Podi Lassie”, has been introduced again to Sri Lanka from India by a particular police crew this morning (Feb. 27).
He had been arrested by Indian safety authorities following a diplomatic engagement and with the intervention of Interpol.
‘Podi Lassie’, who allegedly fled to India by sea after being granted bail on Dec. 09, 2024, was reportedly apprehended by safety officers in Mumbai in Jan. 2025.
Accordingly, he was dropped at the Bandaranaike Worldwide Airport (BIA) in Katunayake from Mumbai on SriLankan Airways flight UL-142 at 5.55 am right this moment.
Upon arrival, he was handed over to the Elpitiya Divisional Crimes Investigation Bureau for additional investigations.
